The company reinvests more than 18% of its sales into product research and development. Its subsidiaries include Bukwang Medica (100% stake) and Contera Pharma (94.38% stake). The company has also invested in foreign companies, such as their $25 million investment in Melior Pharmaceuticals, an American company developing tolimidone (for treatment of type 2 diabetes and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis) and mesocarb (treatment of Parkinson’s dyskninesias and sleep disorders).
